Other
2000: Project coordinator, The No Know Space, for Midsumma Festival 2001. This project stemmed from my interest in poster placement as a political/aesthetic act and its effect on the built environment. I was interested in the various strategies employed by local councils to contain and localise such offending material, and in doing so, questioning the posters ability to stay powerful and relevant in an authorised and sanctioned space. As coordinator of this project, I liaised with designers and photographers, sourced appropriate sponsorship and produced and prepared the posters for placement throughout the CBD.
1996-2000: Alongside my visual arts practice, I was also a founding member and active participant in an independent, selffunding artist run initiative. At its closure, Talk Artists Initiative was 3.5 years old and was located in the historic Nicholas Building in the Melbourne CBD. Talk hosted new exhibitions by emerging and mid-career artists. Talk actively participated in cultural exchanges with international artists in an attempt to stay informed about contemporary art practise from diverse geographical locations. This project was initiated by a group of my peers and I after completing our post graduate studies at the Victorian College of the Arts.
